It is available for pre-order this Friday, April 17th, and will be shipped April 24th. There will be a 128 GB model for $ 449 and a 256 GB model for $ 549. Like other iPhones, it will come out with the free year of Apple TV Plus. It will be black, white and red.
The iPhone SE is essentially an iPhone 8 with an improved camera and processor, as well as a lower price. Although it's a relatively old design, this iPhone SE is equipped with Apple's A13 Bionic chip, the same one that is available on the latest iPhone 11 and 11 Pro models.
This should ensure that it has a much longer life than the $ 449 iPhone 8 model, which it replaces in the Apple lineup that has had the A11 chip since 2017. There won't be a wider version of the second-generation iPhone SE, but the iPhone 8 Plus will continue to be sold in certain markets.
The processor also allows the new iPhone SE to get some new camera features. On the back, there is one 12-megapixel camera lens (with flash). Apple says it uses A13 Bionic chips to enhance its Smart HDR photo, which combines multiple shots into a single photo to improve lighting and detail.
It also has a portrait mode with technology that Apple calls "monocular depth measurement." It uses machine learning to determine depth and faces - which, unfortunately, means that it will only work on people, not on pets. It includes optical image stabilization, and Apple says it can do “cinematic” video stabilization, as well as support 4K video at 60 frames per second. The front-facing selfie camera has a resolution of 7 megapixels and can also create portrait mode effects.
