WordPress.com Sites and Accounts

WordPress.com allows you to create great sites and blogs, and we will be happy if you use it. A WordPress.com account also allows you to log in to some of our Services.

The main WordPress.com service is free, and we offer paid plans for advanced features such as a custom domain name, additional storage and access to premium themes. Our service is designed to provide you with the greatest possible control and ownership of what is happening on your site, and to encourage you to freely express your opinion. You are the owner of all the content that you publish on your site. However, be responsible for what you publish. In particular, make sure that none of the prohibited elements (such as spam, viruses, or serious threats of violence) appear on your website.

If you find a WordPress.com website that you believe violates these Terms, visit the dispute resolution and reporting page.

Removing content. If you remove Content, we will use reasonable efforts to remove it from public viewing (or in the case of a private website, from viewing by authorized visitors) on WordPress.com, but you acknowledge that caching or links to Content may not be immediately unavailable.

Internet traffic. We use a third-party company comScore, Inc. (“ComScore”) for measuring audience and using WordPress.com. By hosting your website on WordPress.com, you agree to assign Automattic traffic related to your website and you allow us to sign a Traffic Assignment Letter on your behalf for comScore audience measurement reports. Your website traffic will be included in Automattic. You understand that your site will not receive traffic credits in these reports, and you should not assign traffic to your site to any other party. If we or comScore require additional documents to prove ownership of your site or domain name, you agree to use reasonable efforts to satisfy such requests.

Prohibited use. By using WordPress.com, you represent and warrant that your Content and behavior do not violate the User Guides.
