Hand Sanitizers and Coronavirus

Hand Sanitizers and Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is all over the new name of the disease caused by the last coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2. A lot of information is provided to help prevent how Coronavirus (COVID-19) affects you and your family. Perhaps the most important thing you should know is that medical professionals join it: One of the best ways to stay healthy is to wash your hands with soap and water. However, if these are not available, the hand sanitizer can help you get rid of unwanted microbes.

The road to improved health

When shopping for a hand sanitizer, be sure to choose a disinfectant that contains between 60-95% alcohol. Also, when you use hand sanitizer, make sure you do it correctly. Find the instructions on the back of the bottle and follow the appropriate technique. Usually, apply the liquid in the palm of one hand. Then rub the disinfectant on both hands until it is dry. This takes about 20 seconds. Be careful not to wipe the disinfectant dry. Doing so may not be as effective at killing germs.

There are many times you need to use hand sanitizer, for example before and after touching a surface that other people touch. It is good to wipe the handle of a shopping cart before use. It is wise to use the disinfectant after pushing a car into the store, filling your car with fuel, holding the money and touching the elevator buttons or door handles. Always wash your hands (with soap and water or hand sanitizer) whenever you cough and sneeze.

Things to consider

Frequent use of hand sanitizer can make your hands too dry. If this happens, make sure your hands are dry, then apply lotion.

Remember, hand sanitizers won't get rid of all the germs on your hands. You should not use a disinfectant if your hands are oily or dirty. It cannot replace soap and water.
