 Load Bearing Structures:

In this type of structure, the load on the structure is moved vertically downward through the walls. The loads from the ceiling and floor move into the wall and then the wall itself has to move the load along with its weight. Such structures are used in residential buildings where the dimensions of the rooms are low. Ground structures up to a ground + 2 floors can be financially constructed with such structures.

Framed Structures:

In this type of structure, the framework for columns, beams, and floors is built first. Then the walls were built to divide the residential area. The walls themselves only carry weight. This type of superstructure is needed when the building has multiple stories and also when large areas are cleared of walls.
